Single Moms Retreat 2023 Recap

The Single Moms Retreat was designed by me for single moms to not only relax, renew, and recharge, but also build community. This month, I hosted the second one in Playa del Carmen and we had an amazing time! The resort was a Plant-First, 5-Star Luxury Wellness Resort.

From the views to the service - especially the turndown (essential oil and water & slippers by the bed), we appreciated every detail and I am so glad I was able to have all the moms experience luxury! Some had never been out of the country before or stayed at a luxury resort.

Each room was assigned a nomadic guide - what you likely know as a butler and they were super helpful. I thoroughly enjoy creating unique experiences and exposing moms to new environments!

Here is a quick recap:

Day 1

  • Arrival - I got to welcome all of the moms in

  • Opening Circle - Everyone introduced themselves - sharing where they were from and what industries they worked in. The moms ages ranged from 20s to 50s, with babies to adults. We had such a diverse group! Alaina, who I like to call our resident therapist, gave everyone encouragement to open their mind as we embarked on the next four days.

  • Welcome Dinner - We all got a chance to eat and chat in the beachside restaurant.

Day 2

  • We had a cultural day tour that included a tour of Coba Ruins, lunch in the Pac Chen Village, and the moms then split into two groups: relaxing and adventurous. The relaxing group go to make tamales, taste local honey, and tour a local home. The adventurous group got to go swimming in a cave cenote.

  • VIP had a private dinner experience where the chef took us on a journey through Mexico with food.

Day 3

  • We started the day with yoga

  • Alaina led us through a session on self-care and why it’s important to stay ready so we don’t have to get ready. She also led us through an exercise on writing our life mission statements.

  • Destini led us through a session on Reparenting Ourselves - we went through limiting beliefs, shame, and learned about the importance of the way we speak to ourselves and our children. She had to get us warmed up first w/some Juvie. Haha.

  • We ended the day with a sunset yacht cruise.

Day 4

  • Ashley hosted meditation with affirmations - which was so good for us, especially those that had never done it before.

  • I hosted Single Mom Chat live with Destini & Alaina - which allowed me to recap the previous days, ask Alaina & Destini follow up questions, and give moms an opportunity to ask all of their questions. Moms were then advised to pick one thing they’d implement and to follow-up with an accountability partner.

  • We ended the day with a group photo shoot and closing dinner where everyone got to share their takeaways.

Moms also had free time each day to do what they desired and schedule their massages. The next Single Moms Retreat is happening in Bali next year and I cannot wait! Unfortunately, it is all booked and all spots have been filled but you are welcome to get on the waitlist here.
